Other

    Publishing opportunities (Room 002)

  • There are many possibilities to publish research work: workshops, conferences, book chapters, journals, open access publications, etc. The session will offer a perspective on publishing opportunities from the view of an experienced researcher. Special focus will be on journal publications, including typical review and publication processes. The Springer journal BISE (Business & Information Systems Engineering) will be used as an example. One intention of the session is to encourage participants to consider extending their BIS conference papers towards journal publications.
    Tableau Tutorial (Room 213)

  • Tableau is a smart BI tool which helps business users to explore, understand and visualize every set of data, even Big Data. During 1.5 h tutorial you will have a chance to create a powerful and visually appealing Dashboard on sample data. Additionally, Tableau expert will present connection to Google Big Query to show performance capabilities of the tool.
Real-time spatial analysis with RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) and In-Memory platform (Room 002)

  • Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), commonly known as drones, are becoming widely used as an aerial data capture platform in engineering surveying and infrastructure incidents handling. With real-time analysis of the added dimension of location information combined with customer-specific domain systems data, organizations may gain a new level of immediacy in their decision-making capabilities.
